TINA - The Tina Turner Musical Eugene reviews
Great Performance, but...
The Opera House was decorated beautifully for Christmas. The performance was terrific. However, patrons were allowed in after the show started. This went on for about the first 40 minutes and it was chaotic. Ushers did not know what they were doing, people were groping around in the dark and talking out loud, others telling them to be quiet. People could not see the stage or figure out the story line. Some patrons actually sat down on the steps of the aisleway. People were left to their own devices trying to find their seats. What happened to the doors close when the performance begins?
If you get the chance, do not pass up this show
The show from beginning to end was captivating. I did not care for the racial epithets, but it was necessary to tell the entire story. The same can be said of the portrayal of the Black man. The dancing and singing was outstanding. I could not believe that the dancers were not out of breath. They helped guide the show. The acting was first rate. My only regret is that I did not get to experience this show on Broadway. I hope that I get a chance to see more shows like this in the very near future.
